July 2009

1st Annual Pictionary Tournament

Do you like to have fun? Does your organization want to recruit new members? If so, then be sure to read all about this award winning project!

The Volunteer Council congratulates the Nashville Orchestra Symphony League for their award winning project and is pleased to feature it as a Project of the Month.

So what makes a Project of the Month?
The Nashville Symphony Orchestra League came up with a fun and unique way to recruit and retain members. They took the popular family game of Pictionary and turned it into a successful memberhip recruitment tool.

The goals of this organization was to increase membership numbers, broaden the membership base with a target audience aged 30-60 and to provide a fun, low cost event. By pre-registering for the event, having practice rounds, refreshments and a fun atmosphere, the Tournament was a huge success and will now be repeated annually. Eight-eight new members were recruited on their first attempt!! This novel and fun idea definitely gets our vote as a featured Project of the the Month!.

The Volunteer Council hopes this award-winning project will inspire your organization to think “out of the box”, team up with others in the community, look for new event venues and have a win-win situation for all.
